New Info!
Congratulations to Majestic Nestle's Chocolate Chip for winning Best of Breed Puppy in the 2007 MCOA National Specialty hosted in conjunction with ARBA! Nestle was bred by Majestic Mi-Kis and is a rare chocolate smooth coat! Way to go, Nestle!
Also a big congratulations to Majestic Duke of Kensington for winning Best of Breed Adult in the 2007 MCOA National Specialty! There were over 50 Mi-Ki dogs and puppies shown at that show and we are very proud that our Majestic Mi-Kis won both categories!
Majestic Mi-Kis is proud to announce that we played a significant part, along with the American Mi-Ki Registry Association (AMRA), in getting the Mi-Ki recognized by the American Rare Breed Association (ARBA). We were part of a group of AMRA breeders that exhibited the largest showing of Mi-Ki Dogs & Puppies EVER! This effort helped to accomplish the recognition of the Mi-Ki by ARBA! Congrats to AMRA and the Mi-Ki Breed for moving forward!
(These are all long coats!)

What's A Mi-Ki?
If I had a nickel for every time I have been asked that question, I would have a pretty full piggy bank right now....
Mi-Kis are a rare toy breed with the ideal personality. This truly is "The ULTIMATE Take-A-Long Companion!"
Mi-Kis are intelligent, loving, accepting of others, and gentle. They share ancestry with the Papillon, Maltese, & Japanese Chin. This is the best toy breed I have ever experienced. Mi-Kis are NOT yippy, mean, aggressive, tinklers, or territorial. They are excellent with children, tolerant, and patient. With a proper start from the right breeder and with consistency from you, Mi-Ki puppies are easy to potty train and can use the outdoors, wee wee pads, or even a litter box. This is excellent for those rainy and/or snowy days! Mi-Kis may be small, but they have the heart of a big dog.
Mi-Kis have no known major health conditions specific to the breed, and live into their teens. They do have minor issues to watch for similar to that of all toy breeds such as: patellar luxation, one or two minor CERF disorders, and premature dental decay. Majestic Mi-Kis does everything possible to ensure that we are producing the healthiest, top of the line Mi-Ki Puppies ever! We routinely screen our breeding stock for any and all patellar issues along with any CERF issues. We only breed those adults that we feel confident will better the breed and add quality to the offspring produced. Mi-Ki Dogs and Puppies are non-shedding as they are single coated, meaning that they have hair more like humans...(not fur). Mi-Kis have two coat types: The Long Coat & The Smooth Coat! I will give example photos of each throughout this site or you can visit our sister site at: www.majesticmi-kis.com
The LONG COAT Mi-Ki is exactly that -- Long Hair from Head to Paw.
The SMOOTH COAT Mi-Ki is a little harder to explain. While they do have areas that get long hair (the tail, the rear end, & some fringing on the ears/legs), they do not get long hair on the face and head, the legs and feet, and the body hair stays of a medium length. As far as maintenance is concerned, the smooth coat is less demanding and takes less time to maintain, but does seem to lose more random hairs than the long coat. The long coat requires regular brushing to keep the coat free of tangles and some light trimming in between the eyes and such. Both coat types of course require the pads of their feet to be trimmed.
Long coat w/ shaved head for show ring! Smooth coat completely natural(unshaved)
